A week ago we introduced you to the buoyant, retro-rubbed disco act, Urban Homes with a host of their video for  “Ayran Gifbek Mersi-” today we’re pleased to offer a full album stream of another member of that band’s Altin Village & Mine label crew- the diverse Cologne dance quartet, PTTRNS.  After a handful of 12″s, a debut longplayer, Science Piñata and a tour alongside Australia’s My Discothe band hooked up with producer Jan-Philipp Janzen (of Von Spar, The Field) in Köln to create a followup in Body Pressure. A varied set perfect for wider ears, this eight-song collection mixes jovial dance pop numbers spread across the likes of R&B smoothers (“Resonate”), pumped-up electro quirk (“Strong Talk”), tropical guitar intwine (“Dice”) and come-down atmospherics (“Major Nature”). Fans of Hot Chip, Metronomy, Yeasayer and The xx should take note.

Another lovely release from Marcel Schulz and Oliver Schütze’s German imprint Altin Village & Mine. Order the LP via their shop and stream the entire thing below. Read a portion of the label’s thoughts below.

After their 2010 debut album  (Europe/North America: Altin Village & Mine, Asia: Moorworks), followed by numerous headline shows, 2013 sees them return with Body Pressure, a spectacular development in the band’s catalogue. After a full European tour with in late 2011 and an intensive writing phase, the band selectively played out the new material to overwhelming responses. In 2010, the former three piece announced that “Everyone plays everything,” which marked an open conception of the concert situation, inviting the audience to participate in the performance and which eventually formally manifested in the inclusion of (former audience – and now) fourth band member, percussionist, drummer and dancer Hendrik Frese.

Purchase Body Pressure via Altin Village & Mine.
